Todd Blanche Gives Chilling Reason Why Democrats Won't Be Able To Prosecute Trump Officials

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche presented an unsettling reason why Democratic lawmakers won’t be able to investigate or prosecute Trump administration officials for any crimes they may have committed in office. During a Friday joint interview with FBI Director Kash Patel on NewsNation, Blanche was asked if he has plans to mitigate any future actions Democrats may take against Trump administration officials, were they to regain power in the 2026 and 2028 elections. “Do I believe it’s a possibility that the Democrats will go after President Trump, his family, anybody that knows him, anyone that worked for him? I think they’ve proven that to be true,” Blanche said. “And what can we do about it, is we can just keep exposing. When we learn about the weaponization that happened for many years, we can keep on exposing it and putting roadblocks in place so it never happens again. Blanche added that he doesn’t worry about what may happen to himself, but what could happen to the country. He also did not elaborate on what those “roadblocks” could be. Many Democratic lawmakers have suggested that, upon regaining power, a key priority should be investigating any alleged crimes that may have been committed by Trump administration officials. Among those lawmakers is Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, who told The New York Times in March that “people in this administration who’ve broken the law” should be “criminally prosecuted, civilly prosecuted.” Since retaking office, President Donald Trump’s administration has taken numerous steps to absolve his allies and supporters, whom they say had the Biden Justice Department “weaponized” against them. This includes Trump pardoning nearly 1,600 people charged or convicted in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection as well as attempting to create an “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” which the administration has since seemingly backed off from after bipartisan pushback. Blanche did not specify what “roadblocks” he would attempt to put in place. Trump this week said he would nominate Blanche to be considered by the Senate for the position of attorney general.
