I'm pretty sure I pulled Chewbacca out of my drain... —Stephen Oakes "When I pulled the orange plastic spiked strip from the package, I was immediately skeptical and felt like all those 5-star reviews were from people who exist in an alternate universe. I was tempted to initiate a return on Amazon, but decided that I might as well gamble on a piece of $9 plastic before gambling $200 on a plumber. I slipped the plastic strip down my shower drain and literally FIVE SECONDS LATER I was pulling up gobs and gobs and gobs of hair. HOLY COW!!!!!!!! OHMYGOSH. I can't believe I still have any hair left on my head. SO MUCH REPULSIVE GUNK!!!! I saved my prize hairball on the shower floor to show my husband because I knew he would be as skeptical as I was. We both agree it looks like a small raccoon or a large squirrel lying helplessly on my shower floor. It's a grisly, messy, smelly, and oh-so-rewarding job." —Chocolate and Chips Get a three-pack from Amazon for $7.99 (also available in a five-pack). With these foot mask "socks," you just slide them onto your feet, leave them on for an hour to let the gel soak into your feet, and you should start to see the dead skin peel away within 6–11 days (with remarkably softer feet in two weeks!). Promising review: "I placed this order after seeing it everywhere on TikTok, and boy am I glad I tried it! I was initially skeptical of trying anything on my feet, and let’s be honest, the peeling feet pictures are not for the weak :) — but [they are] oddly extremely satisfying. I soaked my feet in the bag for an hour as instructed (super easy to use). Two weeks later, BOOM baby soft feet. 10/10 would recommend!!" —Alma Elias Get two pairs from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in two scents). When you first use this, just be sure to take it slow, apply light pressure, and adjust as you go! Promising review: "OMFreakinG!!! I just received this foot file today, and I'm officially a believer!!! I hate the thought of anyone touching my feet, so I have been trying to find something to do pedicures by myself, and nothing has worked well. I was scrolling Facebook and came across a post about Amazon's top-rated products. When I saw this, I was skeptical but thought I would try it out, and I'm so glad I did. This file got my feet baby smooth within minutes with such ease after months of built-up dead skin. With this on the market, I don't know why anybody would want to go spend a ton of money at a nail salon." —Tasha P Get it from Amazon for $11.99+ (available in three colors). Promising review: "I saw this product on TikTok and decided to try it out for myself. The name doesn’t lie — spray it on, shut the bathroom door, and in a few hours, the shower is 100 times cleaner. Usually, I’ll let it sit overnight, and by morning, the visible grime on the shower is gone, including soap scum. I’ll usually let the shower water rinse the residue out, and then I will take a bucket just to get everything off the shower walls. It is a bit slick if you try to get in the shower without rinsing the residue, but otherwise it’s a worthy cleaning staple in my house." —Tara D. Check out BuzzFeed Shopping contributor Sam Wieder's Wet & Forget review to learn more. Get it from Amazon for $20.98 (available in two scents and two sizes). Note: Do not use on glass, clear plastics (like on your speedometer/odometer), media screens, alcantara, or suede. Promising review: "Holy moly, how did I never know that this existed?? This cleaner is nothing short of a miracle!! My backseat bench has been dirty with mystery stains now for at least a decade, stains that were created by little kids, various passengers, cargo, who knows. I tried EVERYTHING to get out the hazy, dirty staining on my charcoal-colored seats to no avail. Hot water and soap, alcohol-based rubs, carpet cleaners, fabric cleaners — literally EVERYTHING, plus lots of elbow grease. I grew frustrated and resigned that my car would look like a dump forever. Then I started doing some research and came upon this cleaner. Many reviews stated it was the best thing ever, car sites named it their top choice, etc. I decided it's worth a last-ditch try, and boy, I am so glad I did! It took four to five sprays, some minor agitating and rubbing with a broad brush, then wiped off with the enclosed cloth, and whaddaya know?? POOF! STAINS GONE! I simply can't believe how easy this was and how pain-free. I will go tomorrow and clean ALL my car seats! I highly recommend this, it’s the bomb." —Manddun Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (also available in a gallon size). Promising review: "I discovered these tabs from using one of their other products to clean a different machine. They are really packaged well, and every pack comes with a note from the company. Drop a tab in the detergent cup, run a wash cycle, and when done, open the door and let it air dry. Really easy to use. My dishwasher is 20 years old, and a regular cleaning from one of these knocks out some of the yuck. I’m a fan of these tabs! A++." —Bryan W. Steffy Get a pack of 24 from Amazon for $19.95 (also available as a 48-pack). Promising review: "Right out of the box, I could tell these mitts were going to be exactly what I needed. Excellent quality and easy to use! I’ve tried them twice already, and my skin is now incredibly smooth! After I scrubbed my arm, I looked at the mitt and saw it was covered with dead skin cells. I’ll be buying more of these as gifts for girlfriends (in a fun spa gift basket)!" —Danielle Get it from Amazon for $11.99+ (available individually or as a pair, and five colors). Promising review: "I tried EVERYTHING! I tried tree tea oil for years and various products. Nothing worked. The reviews were so great on this that I decided to try to cure it one more time. But when you have had a condition for 35 years, you aren’t too hopeful! I followed the suggestions of some of the reviewers and cut my toenails (I only had it on my big toes) everywhere that the fungus was present, even below the quick. I started applying this gel, which is super easy to use. I swear to you that I noticed a difference after one application." —WIAPilot Promising review: "I had no idea that cleaning a Keurig was a thing. I bought these because I saw them on TikTok, believe it or not. I wanted to give it a go because my Keurig isn’t that old, and I didn’t think it would do anything. IT WORKS SO WELL! My Keurig wasn’t as nasty as some I’ve seen, luckily. I would highly recommend; it keeps everything running correctly and clean." —Lauren The wand is easy to use and has a button to eject the used sponge head, so you don't have to touch it — and the sponge heads are even designed specifically to fit under the rim of your toilet! Promising review: "So, we have a toilet that belongs to the cats. We don't use it, we don't look at it, we like to pretend it does not exist. Even with semi-regular flushing, cat waste is pretty nasty stuff that builds up quickly in the bowl. One of these wands cleaned it up in a single session (pictured above)!" —Whitney These pumice stones can also be used to clean other surfaces, like ceramic tile, concrete, and porcelain, around your home! Promising review: "I can’t even tell you how much I love this product. I was so embarrassed by the toilet and bathtub in our guest bathroom. Our water is so full of iron that you can’t even drink it, so it stains everything it touches. It took a little bit of elbow grease, but this is the only thing I have found that will take the staining off! I will recommend it to anyone I know!" —MorganeC. Get a two-pack from Amazon for $9.97 (also available as a six-pack). Read more about tongue scraping at Cleveland Clinic. Promising review: "Unfortunately, I, like many, suffer from bad breath and have tried so many things to stop it. I read that sometimes it's the germs on your tongue that can cause it, so I went crazy trying to brush my tongue. Of course, we all know how that ends — gagging, watery eyes, and it still looks like that gross film is on your tongue. I finally decided that maybe it was time to get a tongue cleaner, and it had to be a stainless steel one because they are easier to clean and sterilize. This product is really easy to use, and I can get very far back on my tongue without activating my gag reflex. Also, it doesn't have the feeling like brushing with a toothbrush does. This cleaner just glides across my tongue, taking all the icky germs and bad breath with it. I love my nice new fresh breath and boost of confidence!" —jordanb Get it from Amazon for $9.97 (also available in packs of two or 12). It only takes 15 minutes to clean — just run the water, pour it in, and turn the jets on! Oh Yuk is a family-owned small business that offers a range of chemist-formulated products for home appliances. Promising review: "This stuff is great! We just bought a house, and my hubby cleaned the jetted tub twice with a strong bleach solution. I bought this product based on the reviews and tried it afterward. Look at the crud that came out of the jets. Now, our tub is all sparkly and clean! 😊" —Becky Get it from Amazon for $22.99+ (available in three sizes and two styles). However, it's always a good idea to chat with your ENT before using any ear-cleaning products! BuzzFeed Shopping contributor Negesti Kaudo raves about this: "I've been using this stuff for almost a decade, and I'm v v v excited people are finally getting hip and talking about it! I used to have horribly waxy ears, and I was prone to ear infections as an adult, so I wanted to make sure my ears were as clear as possible, all the time. Ever since I started using this — which, the first time, the crackling of the solution and the wax in your ear may startle you, but it's normal — my ears have been practically wax-free, to the point where even my doctors are impressed! If you don't believe me, just check out the customer reviews to see the GOBS of earwax being removed from people's ear canals. 🤢 " Promising review: "I knew I had earwax buildup problems when my hearing would randomly become muffled and wouldn't unblock for 2–3 days. I started applying the drops twice daily with a warm water bulb flush once a day. The first day, only a little bit of wax came out, but the earwax buildup was dissolving. The second day, after I applied the drops, my right ear was muffled the entire day, but when I did the ear bulb flush, a ton of wax came out, and my hearing was restored. I continued the treatment for both ears, and by the third day, my left ear was cleared of most of the earwax as well. By the fourth day, all of the built-up earwax was cleared out, and my ears were no longer itchy or muffled. These drops are amazing and worked way better than I expected, as I thought it'd help get rid of some wax, but I would need to go to the doctor to get the rest out. Trust the process and continue using the solution for the recommended four days; it works!" —RnG However, it's always a good idea to chat with your ENT before using any ear-cleaning products! The kit includes the washer bottle and three disposable tips. Using it is simple: Fill the bottle with your preferred ear-cleaning solution, attach the disposable tip, and then spray the cleaner into your ear. Doctor Easy started 20 years ago with the invention of the Elephant Ear Washer by a doctor who saw the need for a better method of treating patients’ earwax impactions. Promising review: "Gross photos. My husband has had a lot of earwax impaction problems in his life, and up until this point, we have paid to have a professional take care of it. But recently, he suddenly lost about 80% of his hearing and just couldn't wait for an appointment, so we bought this item. From the reviews I have read, it was a particularly easy solution for my husband. Nasty huge chunks start falling out after just a couple of squirts. Cleared everything out, no problem. Highly recommend." —Tea You can use it on furniture, purses, shoes, and other suede and nubuck leather goods! Promising reviews: "This product is AMAZING! I’m usually not one to write reviews, but this was the absolute best! I’ve had a few stubborn dirt and scuffs in my suede couch, but this little magic tool erased them! It took some time, but I was amazed at the results! I could not recommend a product more! It also worked very well in smoothing out my Steve Madden suede sneakers! GRAB YOURSELF THIS BRUSH NOW!" —Raine B "This brush is amazing. My daughter went puddle jumping in her boots. They dried out while I was trying to figure out how to clean them. Saw the reviews on this and ordered right away. Holy cow, they look almost new. I cleaned all my boots too because I was so excited. Even ones I thought looked clean were much improved. I washed the brush with dish soap and water and let it dry between pairs." —TRW Get it from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in four styles). Promising review: "Saw on TikTok (don’t judge) and automatically added to cart. So easy to use, takes probably a minute to fully bubble up and clean, and you’re left with a clean sink! I use it with other drain cleaning products, but would 100% recommend for weekly maintenance." —Jessica House Get a four-pack from Amazon for $3.96 (available in two quantities). Of course, this is not an overnight miracle product. You should apply this 2–3 times a day, and eventually, you may start to see results! Talk to your doctor before attempting to treat your keloid on your own, and learn more about keloids from Cleveland Clinic. BuzzFeed Shopping contributor Jordan Grigsby has used this, and here's what she has to say: "Oh! BTW, I bought this. Last year I got a dermal piercing on my chest and since literally just about every piercing I've ever gotten has grown a keloid on it, I should have known my dermal would eventually, too. I got the piercing in February of 2023, and around May, I noticed a nasty, stubborn little bump making a guest appearance on my piercing. 🙄 I had written about this stuff a few times, so the light bulb went off, and I immediately bought it. I consistently used it twice a day, and it gradually disappeared, literally like magic, within a month. Keloids are a serious nightmare, and I'm so glad that I found this stuff. I even *accidentally* ripped it out in November and immediately grabbed this to prevent a keloid from forming cuz I just knew it'd get infected. To my surprise, no keloid, nada. This stuff always gets rid of keloids for me; it's such a lifesaver. You do have to be patient and consistent; this is NOT an overnight miracle, but it's worth it. I also suggest that you continue to use it for like another week or two even after your keloid goes away, juuust in case it tries to sneak back into your life." Get it from Amazon for $12.85 (also available in multipacks). Promising review: "I had a stubborn wart on my right thumb that had been there for almost a year. Went to the doctor the first time to freeze it, but it didn't completely remove the wart, so I decided to try the gel. The gel helped, but not for too long, and the wart came back (in a couple of days). Long story short, I got these medicated Band-Aids, and the results are incredibly satisfying. Used these Band-Aids every day for a week, and the next week, my wart was gone. So far, it's been a week, and I haven't noticed any growth. Highly recommend!" —J Promising review: "I have an elderly dog who has occasional accidents and a cat with chronic bladder issues. Without this product, I’m pretty sure I would’ve burned down the house. On fresh accidents, it works with just one treatment. It removes the stains, and more importantly, it completely removes the odors. On older, setting stains, it completely removes stains and odors after several repeat treatments. I’ve tried so many products over the years. Hands-down, this is the best." —SR Kelly Get it from Amazon for $23.92+ (available in two sizes and two scents). This solution works great with Bissell, Hoover, McCulloch, Rug Doctor, Kenmore, and Carpet Express vacuum cleaners. Sunny & Honey is a family-run small business making cleaning products designed for pet owners who want keep their homes stain- and odor-free. Promising review: "A true sensory experience while completing a mundane, laborious chore! The scent from this cleaner was pleasing versus the harsh chemical smell from the other brands out there. Yet, it was able to remove old stains that had been in the carpet fiber for well over seven years. This surprised me as I had just accepted that those stains were there to stay. Plus, it's concentrated, so I just used a bit over the recommended amount. Now the carpet looks great with no grainy feel to it when you walk on it with bare feet, although I did vacuum afterwards. Just as important, the carpet does not have the unpleasant odor that has lingered and would rear its ugly head from time to time! Thanks to Amazon for carrying this and making it easy for me to locate on the site!!!" —Marie J. Get it from Amazon for $21.99 (available in two sizes and three scents). Promising review: "I have four expensive fabric-covered chairs in my kitchen dining area that were long overdue to be cleaned and were so heavily soiled that I wasn't sure even a good cleaning would help. I researched all the available portable cleaning machines, and this seemed to be the one with the best ratings and recommendations. I was amazed at the results when I used it on the chairs. Years of ground-in dirt and grime came out easily, and when I looked at the solution that was vacuumed out, it was the color of dark chocolate. I did a second cleaning and then used a spray bottle to apply clean water to rinse. Honestly, the chairs looked so good that even my son was so impressed he bought one. I want to add that I am very close to eighty. and I had no problems operating it. I highly recommend it, and I rate it five stars plus!" —Kathleen Petro Get it from Amazon for $129.99 (also available in a Mini and Deluxe style). My colleague Negesti Kaudo uses this: "I got a facial a couple of years ago and I could tell something was different about my extractions, so I asked the aesthetician to write down the name of the product. I went home and immediately bought this! I LOVE IT. I love it more than any other skincare tool that I own. This thing gets gunk out like nothing I've ever tried before, and the first time I used it, I was absolutely disgusted. But I kept on using it. I don't have much acne, but I do have oily combination skin and visibly clogged pores, so this has been a lifesaver when I don't have time to visit an aesthetician. You have to use it while your face is still wet, so after washing your face or even using toner, and you just start scraping. Make sure you have a paper towel near (and maybe a camera) because you will be amazed and disgusted all at once, but you will literally never stop using. I use mine every other day to once a week if I'm having skincare issues, but it also does a great job with monthly use (it's just much grosser)! I follow mine up with Clinique's Clarifying Lotion 3 and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel!" Promising review: "Life changing! I’m obsessed with this product! I’ve tried a lot of different extraction tools, even bought a different sucker-type one several months ago that didn’t do anything. This is amazing and makes my skin so smooth afterward. Definitely make sure your skin is wet for extractions." —Darcey Bonnet Get it from Amazon for $15.99 (available in two styles and two colors). These are biodegradable and odor-free. Just fill your cup or mug with warm water, add a tablet, let it sit for 15–30 minutes, empty it out, and rinse — easy as pie! Promising review: "I seriously can't believe how well these little tablets work. I had the most disgusting Hydro Flask coffee mug — I tried everything. A bottle brush, different kinds of soap, vinegar, EVERYTHING, and there was still a seemingly impenetrable layer of black sludge inside. I let a tablet sit in each of my mugs for an hour or two, and the black sludge rinsed out COMPLETELY, without even scrubbing. They look brand new. What a magical product. No weird smell or taste afterward, either. I liked it so much I used it on another Hydro Flask I use primarily to hold my Bloody Mary mix in the fridge. I couldn't put anything else in it because it would always taste like spicy tomato juice. Bottle Bright to the rescue! No residual smell or taste anymore. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING." —Amazon Customer Get a 36-pack from Amazon for $14.86 (also available in packs of 12 and 78). Promising review: "Best. Thing. Ever. This product works like a charm. It gets the sand from between their pads and is gentle enough that even my most stubborn pup tolerates it! I have a terrier/Schnauzer who likes to dig, a mini Goldendoodle who is prissy about her paws, and a standard Labradoodle puppy who is still very fuzzy. We have a farm where it's extremely sandy, and we stay in a travel trailer. The amount of sand they were tracking into the camper was ridiculous. Now it takes me three minutes to clean and dry off all of their paws. Seriously, the best purchase I have made!" —Rachel Get it from Amazon for $12.14+ (available in three sizes, with or without a lid, and in eight colors). In case you're not familiar with The Pink Stuff paste, this non-abrasive formula works on walls, grout, kitchen counters, sinks, stovetops, ceramic tile, metal, appliances, outdoor furniture...basically anything you can think of. Promising review: "I was heartbroken when I saw that my daughters had written on the dresser with Sharpie! I tried so many different chemicals, and nothing worked! I found this on TikTok and said, 'Welp, let me try my luck and see if it really works!' And let me tell you, I am still shocked at how amazing this product works!!!! Yayyyy, I'm so soo soo happy to see my dresser white again!!!!😭😭😭 Thank youuuu!!!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE LITTLE KIDS IN THE HOUSE!!!!" —Gabriela Portillo Solorio The Pink Stuff has earned a stamp of approval from multiple BuzzFeed staff members — check out our The Pink Stuff review to learn more! Get it from Amazon for $5.97 (available in two sizes). Drill Brush is a small business that was founded by Anthony LaPolla, a former electrician with carpal tunnel syndrome who developed this tool as a way to clean while avoiding painful scrubbing. Promising review: "Bought these on a whim and was skeptical if they would really help, but man, am I glad I did! They made cleaning our glass shower door and fiberglass shower a breeze! Don't really want to admit how long it had been between cleanings, but the shower shone like it never had before (even with using tough elbow grease and a standard bristle brush). No issues with the brushes leaving marks, but definitely want to err on the side of caution on how long you stay in a spot. Used the large flat circular brush for the door and walls, and the round toilet bowl type brush worked great in the corners and on fixtures." —Molly Get a set of three brush heads from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in different brush stiffnesses). Promising review: "I have rescue poodles, and any poodle owner can tell you about cleaning poodle ears. It's...nasty. But when you add years of neglect on top of already prone-to-funk ears, it is just terrible. Infections, pain, and stressful cleanings were part of our lives until I tried this stuff. I have no idea how it works, but it's MAGICAL. You squirt it in, smoosh it around, and the ick just starts wiping right off. It somehow fixes the sticky and stinky ear goop and makes cleaning ears as easy as rubbing them out with a cotton pad. It's gentle on the skin and hair while breaking up the funk. I wish I'd found this years ago." —Jenae Check out a TikTok of the Dawn Powerwash Spray to see it in action! Here's what BuzzFeed editor Elizabeth Lilly has to say about this spray: "I live in an apartment without a dishwasher, and I honestly use that as an excuse to order takeout food instead of cooking. But, as soon as I got my hands on a bottle of this stuff (regular Dawn is my go-to dish soap, BTW), I put it to use on both a saucepan I used to make homemade enchilada sauce *and* the casserole dish I baked those enchiladas, which had a ton of caked-on food. It really does work like I say it does! Like, scary well." Get the four-bottle starter pack from Amazon for $23.88 (available in four scents). Just FYI, lint building up in your dryer is a fire hazard! So...this is a smart and safe tool to have! Promising review: "I read a BuzzFeed review about this and saved it, because it looked like a good idea. We are diligent about cleaning out the lint trap at least every other load. My husband also blows out the hose from the inside and sucks it out from the outside twice a year. I ordered this tool and showed it to my husband. He was a bit skeptical at first, but tried it out. The amount of lint, socks, change, you name it, that came out of both sides of the hose was astonishing! Our dryer already did a good job at drying, but we did have to run it twice sometimes with heavier loads. We don’t have to do that now! We put it right above the dryer as a reminder to use it often!" —Katie This is the pre-mixed version, but you can also grab the original powder version. And if you want to know just how effective *and* versatile this cleaner is, make sure to read our review of Bar Keepers Friend! Promising review: "This is the best cleaning product I have ever bought in my 40+ life...bar none. Coming from a clean freak, I recommend this product 111% (yes)!" —DA Get two 13-oz. bottles with a fish-shaped sponge from Amazon for $24.49 (also available without the sponge). Here's what BuzzFeed Shopping writer Emma Lord (pictured above) has to say about this game-changer: "An embarrassing confession: My hair gets so ingrained in the carpet that a vacuum truly does nothing for it. In fact, to make matters worse, weird particles get stuck in the hair on the floor, which is stuck to the carpet, so I often was just unrooting clumps of hair from the floor with my hands (sorry for the visual). I bought this broom, and it immediately started pulling up GOBS of hair. My carpet, like, genuinely changed color (turns out the pink was supposed to be much pinker, whoops). Anyway, do with that semi-horrifying information what you will." Promising review: "I bought this broom two years ago, and it is still going strong! I have four large dogs, and we have fur EVERYWHERE! This works so, so well! I am always amazed at what this picks up, even after I just ran the vacuum. If you remove the head from the handle, you can use the head to do all the crevices along baseboards where fur gets trapped on the carpets. I also use it that way to do the carpet corners on the stairs. Lastly, I use it to get dust and cobwebs off the floors and ceilings. It truly is a super tool." —Roseann Get it from Amazon for $18.99+ (available in three styles and with add-ons).
