Karoline Leavitt Accidentally Admits Reality Of Trump 2028 Run

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt seemed to accidentally undermine her boss’s third-term delusions during a Friday interview on Fox News. Asked about balancing motherhood and being President Donald Trump’s favorite mouthpiece, Leavitt slipped up and admitted a major reality about the presidency. Telling Fox News talent and Trump daughter-in-law Lara Trump she’s proud of the “public service” working at the White House provides, she added, “I realize it’s temporary. President Trump is only here in D.C. for four years.” Somehow, Leavitt seemed to forget that Trump has been teasing the idea of a third term for years now. At Friday’s redux of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, he told the room of reporters and politicos, “I’m going to do it again,” while popping on a MAGA red “Trump 2028” hat. During commencement for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in May, the president told graduates, “I’m going to be here in ’28. Maybe I’ll be here in ’32 too. I don’t know.” Though the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution explicitly states that “no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,” Trump has also mused about finding workarounds. Asked if he was serious about his ambitions during an interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker in May 2025, he said he was “not joking” and that he believed there were “methods” to continue his time in the Oval Office.
