From football pitches to film sets, here are the nepo babies who ditched their first careers for acting.

Romeo Beckham is entering a new chapter in his career. Two years after walking away from football, the son of David and Victoria Beckham is set to make his acting debut in Forty Love, a French queer romance directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti.

The film follows rising tennis star Sacha Gallo as he trains alongside his father in pursuit of a major French title. Romeo will play a new rival who enters Sacha's world and challenges everything he thought he knew about himself.

“For the first time, he faces an opponent of an entirely different nature — love,” the synopsis reads, as per Variety. “A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing — and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”

While French audiences can expect to see the film on 25 November, a UK release date has not yet been confirmed.

Of course, Romeo isn’t the first celebrity kid to swap one spotlight for another. Some are practically born with a modelling contract in hand and a film script in the other.

From runway regulars who suddenly found themselves on set, to musicians’ kids who decided acting looked more fun than band rehearsals, there’s a long path of nepo kids pivoting into acting when you least expect it.

Following in her mother’s modelling footsteps, Kaia Gerber made her debut for Versace at just 10 years old before going on to work with major fashion houses and appear on countless editorial covers.

She later began exploring acting in her teens, starting with Sister Cities and going on to appear in American Horror Story, Bottoms (2023) and Saturday Night (2024). Gerber is also set to feature in James Morosini’s upcoming erotic thriller Bulls.

Having grown up between fashion campaigns and film sets, Lily-Rose Depp has moved between modelling and acting since her teens. She has since focused more heavily on screen work with projects including Voyagers and the much-discussed The Idol.

Initially making his way through modelling campaigns and entrepreneurial ventures, Patrick Schwarzenegger has gradually shifted focus towards acting. More recently, his role in projects like The White Lotus has put him in the mix of a new wave of legacy actors taking to the screens.

Before stepping into acting, Lily Collins dabbled in modelling and also did some writing for outlets like Teen Vogue. She’s since become best known for Emily in Paris and a string of films, including MaXXXine and Love, Rosie.

Zoë Kravitz has always floated between creative worlds, from modelling to music with her band Lolawolf. But acting has very much taken centre stage, with standout roles in Big Little Lies and The Batman cementing her as a serious on-screen force.
