Another promising review: "I absolutely loved this book. The twists and turns kept coming right up until the very end, and each one was layered—just when I thought I had everything figured out, the story surprised me again. What really made the twists work was that they made sense. Nothing felt random or forced, and it kept me turning pages because I had to know how it all fit together.

This was a fast-paced, hard-to-put-down read that constantly tempted me with 'just one more chapter.' The setting was atmospheric and immersive, with eerie, gothic vibes that added to the tension and overall mood."

Another promising review: "For anyone who hasn't discovered the literary genius of Sarah Waters, it won't be long before you'll want to devour every word the best-selling, award-winning novelist pens. My admiration goes beyond the author's expertise in capturing the mood reminiscent of Oliver Twist. Waters' extensive research enriches the vivid setting. Her spot-on characterizations, combined with a highly absorbing plot, captivate both critics and readers alike. If I were to go back to Victorian England, more precisely London 1862, I bet it would look, smell, taste, and sound as Waters has deftly described it.

Waters captivates her audiences through vivid imagery as each scene builds the suspenseful plot, only to pull a fast one at every turn. If you crave authentic historical fiction, clever plot twists, and a fine romance, I highly recommend you don't miss this."

Another promising review: "Dark Matter was a phenomenal story. I’m going to do my best to sum up my thoughts about it, but I’m not sure I can fully capture my experience in this review. My advice: If you like science fiction, read it. It’s worth your time.  There were a couple of passages that had me almost in tears. I don’t know what else to say about Dark Matter, other than it’s such a good book. Highly recommend."

Another promising review: "I normally figure out books. I normally figure out plotting, who did it, how, and why. This book has to be the best book I read all year hands down and I read one to two books a day, all genres. It is probably the best suspense book I've read in ten years. I loved it and yes, I was able to predict some, but not all of it.

Thank you, authors, for a true escape and a fantastic story. The twists and turns, the relatability of your characters, and plotting are so well done. I almost never review books, because while I read a lot, I really do not have a lot of extra time- but, if you pick up one book this year or try out one new author this year- pick this book and these authors. You will not be disappointed."

Another promising review: "This book is irresistibly readable. The marketing blurbs compare it to lots of other things—novels and TV shows and movies—and I can see the inspirations there, but really it's completely its own thing. It borrows freely from multiple genres, but isn't constrained by any of them. You won't be able to put it down—not because the author relies on cheap cliffhangers, but because the story keeps growing more complex and fascinating as it builds on itself, and you just want to keep going.

The story is ingenious, and almost impossible to summarize, yet not difficult to follow. Despite its intricate structure, Stuart Turton doesn't leave any loose ends dangling; he clearly thought through all the details with incredible care during the writing process. It all hangs together logically... important for almost any story, but especially crucial for a mystery."

Another promising review: "This was a pure thrill ride that got into your head like an ear-worm and made you keep thinking about it over and over until you just couldn't stop and you had to know what was happening and just finish the darn story.

This was one of the most thrilling/suspenseful novels that I have read in a while! And I read a lot of mysteries! For a mystery to get 5 stars from me, it really has to stand out. The author, Peter Swanson, is literally killing it in this novel of psychological suspense! I highly recommend it to any fan of this genre."

Another promising review: "Wow! What a great book. I loved this author's style of writing; the characterizations were all great, and the period information that he included in the book was perfect. And the incredible way that he worked all of the threads of the book into one ending was superb. I will definitely be buying his other books from this series and hoping that he writes more."

Another promising review: "This book did a great job with its twists and turns, and I was constantly trying to guess at what was happening and figure it all out, and I had so many predictions and thoughts, but ALL of them were wrong until the very end. I LOVED that. I read a lot of thrillers, so there comes a point where it gets easy to guess the twists that will happen, but I love it when I can't get anywhere close to the twist.

All in all, I loved Behind Her Eyes and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a fast-paced thriller!"

Another promising review: "His & Hers is a smart, twisty psychological thriller that kept me fully engaged from start to finish. Alice Feeney does an excellent job building tension through dual perspectives, slowly unraveling secrets while keeping the reader guessing about who can actually be trusted.

The short chapters and shifting timelines make this a fast, addictive read, and the unreliable narrators add an extra layer of intrigue. I enjoyed trying to piece together the truth as the story unfolded, especially as the past and present began to collide in unexpected ways."

Another promising review: "Let's just say, I enjoyed this book so much (and the character point of view) that I have recommended it to friends and a couple of family members. From the beginning, I was drawn in like a curious cat, and my attention stayed undivided for the whole book! Start to finish, this book was easy to follow along with and kept me on my toes. The different time settings did not confuse me either.

I haven't really read a book with an interesting point of view (I don't want to give spoilers), but this one was very enthralling. This was very much like watching a movie unfold, with some graphic moments and unsettling. Parts of the book made me uncomfortable, but I was so drawn in, I haaad to stick around to find the outcomes!

Wonderfully done, and will definitely re-read."

Another promising review: "The Wasp Factory is the first book I read by Iain Banks. Turned out to be a masterpiece unlike any other I have read before. The description of the factory is a gruesome description of the life of our main hero, Frank, who is a deranged individual, a psychopath in the making. His brother, already showing severe psychopathic behavior, is on the run from a mental institution, hiding somewhere about, calling his brother constantly. There are so many allegories in this book, and the story is a tour de force through a dark world of a psychopath.

I don't want to spoil this one for the readers, but I highly recommend this for anyone who likes to take a peek into a world of a socio-/psychopath; actually, you will be sucked into it if you just let go. The end in itself is phenomenal, and I didn't see it coming. Highly recommended."

"Richard Matheson wrote I Am Legend in 1954. To this day, it is a breath of fresh air in the vampire/horror world. These are not Stoker’s vampires, nor are they Meyer’s or Ward’s vampires. There is something more tangible and real to these monsters. Matheson has created a vampire apocalypse that feels like it could actually happen.

I was able to put myself in Robert Neville’s life. What would I do? How would I react? Neville was no hero; he was flesh and blood, he was flawed and made mistakes. There is no magic or supernatural force behind him; he survives through hard work and perseverance. I want my heroes flawed and real, people that I can relate to.

I Am Legend is a near-perfect story. Read it, because you should. You’ll be glad you did."

Another promising review: "This is the only book of Samantha Hayes I've read, and I have a feeling we'll be hearing much more from this author. This was a great book with well-developed characters, a ton of suspense, and twists you didn't see coming. The plot was so clever that it left several legitimate answers and endings, so you really couldn't nail down exactly what was going on. When the story did come to an end...you were not disappointed in how everything fell into place.

This book had me hooked from the start and on the edge of my seat waiting for answers, and those answers kept me thinking about this book late into the night. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates a well-thought-out suspense. I started this around lunch time and literally didn't put it down until 3:30 a.m. when I finally finished it."

Another promising review: "Fast-paced thriller with rather interesting characters. The plot had me thinking it would be rather formulaic in having a female bounty hunter come to town, fall in love with a disgraced cop, and solve the mystery. That only partially happens, and not in the way you'd expect. I feel like the main character, Alice Vega, has a LOT of interesting background to her that was just barely touched on in this novel. I would definitely read this author and character again. Character and story were well written and thought out. I looked forward to picking this book back up every night."

Another promising review: "After reading The Silent Patient for myself, it is easy to see why the book has resonated with so many readers. Michaelides has written the kind of compulsively readable novel that contains all of the elements that I crave in a psychological thriller. His plot is efficient in its simplicity. It all culminates in a climactic twist that not only shocked me but also impressed me with the precision with which it was delivered. The Silent Patient has the goods. It is a complex narrative with a propulsive plot, provocative mystery, and empathetic characters that all come together into an expertly crafted read."
