Sorry, but an almost $6 HAM AND CHEESE SANDWICH genuinely feels criminal in this economy. Angelica Martinez is the Latine Editorial Lead at BuzzFeed and covers a little bit of everything, from quizzes and true crime to celebrities and pop culture. *As you can see in this picture, it's missing that light dusting of rice powder that I'm used to seeing on TJ's frozen mochi, which generally helps keep it all stabilized and a bit more together. I'm wondering if that's perhaps what went wrong here, in part? I also want to note that, unlike most things in the freezer aisle, this isn't recommended for cooking in the oven or microwave. It takes about ten minutes in a pan, so if you're looking for a quick appetizer or a low-effort dinner addition, this might not be the move for you. Overall, how I felt about this was, Would I eat it if someone put it in front of me? Yes. Would I spend my own money on it again? No. I used it as I typically would queso fresco on some refried bean and sweet potato tacos, and it was a nice, bright addition, and didn't taste nearly as salty as it did alone. I also used it, knowing it felt similar to feta but with a less briny flavor, mixed with some olives as a topping on a veggie pasta I made, and it was really tasty that way! I will take responsibility for the particularly flat nature of this batch, because the butter I swore I had in my fridge was, in fact, expired, the stores were closed, and I like my coworkers too much to accidentally poison them. So, I subbed in margarine instead, which is known to make cookies spread a bit more than butter does. I will +1 Bella here in that while one wasn't tooth-achingly sweet, I couldn't see myself having more than two or three at once without it being too much. *By this, I mean I have already put it on next week's grocery list as my lil treat for the week.
