After being fired from the Met Gala, a fashion icon who used to be friends with Anna Wintour said that she was “not capable” of “simple human kindness.”

Trump previously attended the Met Gala many times between the 1980s and 2012.

"The ignorance is other-worldly and disgusting. Please stop supporting these stupid, harmful celebrities whose entire image revolves around their bodies. I am not generally an angry person but I swear to god, the toxicity of this industry sometimes really gets to me. And I have to do my little Instagram-story rants to release my rage," she said.

The next day, she tweeted, "I do not say the things that I say because I want to be relevant or get attention. I speak up because I don't see enough people with large platforms calling out toxic behavior in our industry. Some people will never understand where I'm coming from and that's okay."

"It's funny, because the Met Gala and the company that I'm not gonna mention — they fired me. They want models to work on the red carpet. They want, like, people to get noticed. Like, they literally told me, 'We picked you because we like you more than other people to be with this celebrity.' But when people took pictures of the actual celebrity — not me, of the actual celebrity, like Kylie Jenner — and [I] was next to her, of course I ended up in the picture. And they blamed me! They said, 'You made it about yourself, so we don't wanna work with you anymore.' I've been confirmed to work this year a month ago. I have emails. I have messages," he said.

He continued, "For years, Anna was the most important woman in my universe. I bottled up how hurt I was, as always, but our friendship and our professional alignment had just hit a huge iceberg. I later found out it had been Vogue's digital staff that had decided to replace me, not Anna. I knew there was a change in the winds at Vogue, but I never thought I would simply be thrown to the curb."

He added that, on the way home from the 2018 Met Gala, "I swore to myself in that moment: I will never attend another Anna Wintour Met Gala for the rest of my life."

He also said that being mayor was "incredibly difficult, but it's even more fulfilling."

She continued, "I really loved Natacha [Ramsay-Levi] and what she was doing, and I love when you get to work with a woman designer. And I thought this was such a great take on the Valley of the Dolls theme. So Elizabeth really ideated this with Natacha. Also, like, I'm me — so I'm never going to the Met Ball in like a hot dog costume or whatever, you know? I always have to be myself, first and foremost. Like, I'm not going in a costume; I'm going in a dress. There's two camps who go to the Met Ball — the costume or the evening dress. And I'm always going to be an evening dress person. So this was so light and comfortable and chiffon-y and dreamy, and it was just like a lemon chiffon pie."
