I'm getting a steady stream of compliments from coworkers and friends.

That led to an almost immediate obsession with K-beauty sheet masks, and sent me down a road of trying a new one almost every single day of the week (for an entire month).

The result? Less money, obviously, but skin that has a bright, youthful glow, less dryness and redness, and a steady stream of compliments from coworkers and friends. Although one is a clear favorite, which I’ve listed below, you’ll find results with every mask on this list.

I know you're not supposed to pick your favorite child right out of the gate, but this Sungboon Editor deep collagen mask is my favorite — for a few reasons. For one, you can't beat the price. Each mask costs under $5, and you can often bundle them for an even cheaper price. Two, the difference is almost immediate — I found it brightened, smoothed and refreshed my skin after just one use. I've been using these masks for over three months, and my skin shows a very noticeable difference, both after use and just in general. I'm less red, I get a dewy glow that's reminiscent of the viral glass skin you see on social media, and it rejuvenates my face in a way other masks just don't. Lastly, just one mask has over 37 grams of collagen, giving your face a youthful oomph without needing a supplement.

I'll admit, I was new to Biodance masks, mainly because I've been aggressively loyal to Sungboon for the past few months. However, after talking to a colleague who is from Korea and an avid consumer of K-beauty products — and seeing a few of the masks go viral on social media — I decided to buy a 4-pack on Amazon. Just like Sungboon, the price is about $6 per mask, and have so many benefits besides just social media fame. These are highly concentrated (with ultra-low molecular collagen), so the particles can absorb and tighten into pores quicker than others. In fact, women ages 40 to 60 saw an over 200% increase in moisture retention and an 83% decrease in pore size, according to the brand. For me, I noticed the pore size almost instantly. My nose, which is always a point of contention for me, had visibly reduced pores in both real life and photos after just one use. Plus, it brightened my skin instantly too, giving me that fresh-from-the-sauna glow. After seeing the glow my skin had after one use, these quickly became tied with Sungboon for me.

Anua has been a Korean skincare favorite since it entered the US market in 2022. I recently got my hands on their Peach 70 niacin sheet masks, and quickly got to work trying them out against some of my other favorites on the list. What's cool about this mask is that it changes color, from pink to transluscent, indicating when it's ready to remove. The brand recommends keeping it on for three to four hours, so I tested it one weekend afternoon (a glorious one where I had nothing to do), as well as overnight for eight or more hours. Anua's blend of peach water, niacinamide (vitamin B3), and collagen help the skin feel smoother and more youthful, leaving a very fresh-faced, dewy look after wear (especially overnight). I didn't get quite the plumping effect the other masks give, but it definitely delivers on its glass skin claims.

If your FYP is anything like mine, you've probably seen TikTok shop sellers peddling Medicube like their lives depend on it. I decided to ask my knowledgable coworker if the hype is worth it, and she said yes — but only for their masks and creams. So I decided to buy the Medicube's jelly mask with salmon DNA to see if it could combat my dry, tired, 40-year-old skin. Like the Anua brand, this mask changes color once it's ready to be removed (from opaque to transparent), and can be worn for as long as you want (although effects aren't felt once the mask is completely dried). The salmon-derived DNA used in this mask is similar to components naturally recognized by human skin, which may help support barrier function — and does leave a very rosy, vibrant look once it's removed. This definitely became a top contender, for both the effects and the price, which is under $5 a mask. They have a similar mask for radiance, made with turmeric and kojic acid, which I've ordered to test next.

When I asked for her favorite masks of all time, my coworker suggested this one — the Mediheal hyper collagen mask. She also swears by their watermide essential masks, which I'm including as a bonus below. What I love about this mask is the price (under $4 a mask), the ease of access (you can get these from Target, any beauty store, Amazon, and more), and the added toning benefits (thanks to the addition of glutathione). It also has four different strands of collagen and shea butter for even more hydration and nourishment, according to the brand. Even though I love an overnight mask, what sold me on this one was how quickly results came — in just 30 minutes. It's perfect for when you're on the go (even in school pick-up) or on a flight.

This is the mask my coworker swears by, and ranks as her number one. Her skin, as you can imagine, is perfect, and she uses this mask multiple times a week. Even though she's a good 10 years younger than me, I was determined to get even a fraction of her glow by using this mask four times a week. Not only does it absorb super quick into your skin (in less than 20 minutes), it doesn't leave any sticky gel residue or goop on your skin (scientific term) as other bamboo sheet masks due. As I just alluded, the texture is different on these (a much thinner material versus a thick hydrogel), and feels less intrusive on the skin. It also hugs the skin tighter, leading to quicker absorption. The added bonus, though? The package ends up having a lot of extra gel inside, which my coworker applies to the rest of her body (and I used on my neck and chest).
